Leaky Filters and the Ripple Effect™

In our fast paced world there is a high volume of stereotyping from film, TV, and social media, that surrounds us each day. Many times these stereotypical images and words influence our own perceptions and begin to create our world view or our “windows” to the world. At best our perceptions help us understand and make sense of situations and events. At worst, they act as filters that can block out or distort reality and keep us from really seeing things as they are. When those perceptions leak out through our words and behavior..they have unintended consequences on our team, our organization, our customers and on our own success.

Leaky Filters and the Ripple Effect™ is a high spirited, conversation and experience on the impact of leaky filters and the resulting rippling effect through an organization. Video scenarios and a panel of coaches spark the dialogue, keep the energy high and help connect the dots between leaky filters and business impact.

Objectives:

  • Explore perceptions and perceptual filters and their origin
  • Discuss the impact of perceptions on teams, organizations and business performance
  • Develop strategies to manage perceptual filters

This session helps to transcend the limitation of filters and experience a wider part of reality. Participants work on perceptual shifts which can be powerful and often life enhancing while assisting in building teams and organizations that are more inclusive, engaging and productive.
